Presentation and Book Signing: Local Author JR Rouzer
Thursday, March 7
6:30PM
Local author JR Rouzer will be at the Gettysburg Library presenting her journey from inspiration to publishing. A graduate of Biglerville High School, JR Rouzer currently has four books in publication: two children’s books and two novels. For the first part of her presentation, JR Rouzer will talk about how her background teaching science inspired the non-fiction children’s book "The World Around You: Under Your Feet”. She will detail the process from initially writing, illustrating, and designing this book, to its first publication, and finally, to its second publication on the Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing platform. A reading of her fictional children’s book “Being Me” as well as insights to future projects will wrap up the first part of her presentation. JR Rouzer will then talk about the differences and unique challenges of writing, editing, and formatting a novel as compared to children’s stories. Both “The Plan Not Followed” (romance) as well as “The Potential Experiment” (dystopian/sci-fi) will be discussed. An excerpt from one of her novels will be read if time allows. The session will end with a Q & A as well as time to purchase her books on site.
