Winter Reading Challenge: Readers on Ice

Join the Adams County Library System Winter Reading Challenge: Readers on Ice, and embark on a literary journey from January 1 to February 17. Readers of all ages are invited to participate and log their reading for a chance to win exciting prizes!

Adult Winter Reading Challenge:

For the Adult Winter Reading Challenge, dive into the world of literature and aim to read and record 5 books. By doing so, you'll be entered for a chance to win the grand prize. But that's not all – if you read and record a total of 15 books, you'll earn a second opportunity to win the grand prize. It's a fantastic way to challenge yourself and discover new stories.

0-17 Age Group Winter Reading Challenge:

Young readers aged 0-17 are also encouraged to take part in the Winter Reading Challenge. Reach a milestone of 400 minutes, and you'll earn a special prize. It's a great opportunity for young minds to explore the joy of reading, enhance their literacy skills, and be rewarded for their dedication.

Consider joining book clubs or attending programs during this exciting period. It's not just about the quantity of books, but also the quality of your reading journey. Discover new genres, authors, and perspectives as you immerse yourself in the world of literature.

The Adams County Library System will be hosting various programs throughout the winter months for both children and adults. Children can attend the Barks & Books program where they read to a therapy dog, participate in a book club, attend story time, or exercise their creativity during several arts and crafts events.

Adults can join a book club of just about any genre including mysteries, historical fiction, science fiction, diversity, and more. You can also attend Film Fridays held the first Friday of each month at the Gettysburg Library where you are encouraged to read the book and then watch the movie.

To participate in the challenge, simply visit https://www.adamslibrary.org/winter-challenge or stop by any branch. Keep track of your progress, and don't forget to submit your completed log by February 17 to be eligible for the prize drawings.

Whether you're a seasoned reader or just starting your reading adventure, the Readers on Ice Winter Reading Challenge offers a fantastic opportunity to make the winter months more enjoyable and rewarding. Embrace the warmth of a good book with fellow readers in this community-wide celebration of literature. Happy reading!
