Description
In October of last year, Mike Allwein and his wife, Lois, set out on a three-week Civil Rights Pilgrimage through the south, a sojourn that began in Nashville, continuing through TN, MS, AL, LA and GA. Join them as they share gut-wrenching, inspiring and humbling stories from their journey, including a deeper understanding of the stories of Rosa Parks, John Lewis, and Emmett Till. Hear what they learned about how music encouraged young black musicians as they made their journey towards equality, and the role of music in the larger movement away from segregation. Mike is a recently retired Lutheran pastor who served in Gettysburg for 25 years. Lois taught in the Gettysburg School system as an English teacher for nearly 30 years.
