The Amusement Park and Girl Scout Camp at Pine Grove Furnace

Pine Grove Iron Works built an amusement park in 1878 to bring passengers onto their railroad. It closed in 1900, then 1913-1914 the site was used by the Carlisle Indian School. The Girl Scouts built a substantial camp in the same location, 1921-1967. Andre Weltman, Chairman of the Friends of Pine Grove Furnace, will describe this unusual area hidden in the modern State Park.
