Getting from Here to There: Gettysburg College’s Map Collections
Thursday, October 17
6:00PM
Special Collections and College Archives
Musselman Library, 4th Floor
Gettysburg College

Join us in Gettysburg College’s Special Collections and College Archives Reading Room to see rare and antique maps from the 16th-20th centuries. From sea monsters to California as an island, these unique maps give a glimpse into the geographic expertise and creative talents of the cartographers and engravers who crafted them. This program will feature physical and digital selections from the John H. W. Stuckenberg Map Collection and the Patricia Molen van Ee Map Collection.
Carolyn Sautter is the Director of Special Collections and College Archives. She has been a librarian at Musselman library since 2005. Her duties in Special Collections include cataloging and metadata creation for rare items, coordinating class visits to the archives, fielding research questions, and participating in donor relations and collection development. Carolyn’s favorite aspect of her work in Special Collections is connecting Gettysburg College students and visitors with primary sources.
Registration required (Limit: 20 participants)

If this session fills, a second session will be held on Thursday, October 24 at 6:00PM
