Millions of seniors become victims of financial exploitation, this results in personal losses totalling billions of dollars annually. Theresa Serfas, Supervisory Examiner and Field Manager for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) will be presenting on ways to avoid financial exploitation. This program was developed jointly by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the CFPB to provide awareness among older adults and their caregivers on how to prevent elder financial exploitation and to encourage advanced planning and informed financial decision-making.
