New Gardening Books at Your Library

After this winter of wacky weather, most people of Adams County are especially grateful for the warm days of spring this year.  If you’re one of the grateful gardening people, I’m sure you are busy planning your vegetable and flower gardens and your trips to the nursery!
The Adams County Library System has acquired several new gardening books this year that you may want to check out.  The first title is “Gardening complete:  how to best grow vegetables, flowers, and other outdoor plants” by the authors of Cool Springs Press.  This book is a great resource for anyone who wants to learn to garden or broaden their skills.  Topics include planning and planting your garden, essential care for the garden during the growing season, dealing with pests and diseases, and harvesting fruits and vegetables.
For those of you who are looking for something new, try “Garden Renovation:  transform your tired yard into the garden of your dreams” by Bobbie Schwartz.  This do-it-yourself guide shows you how to do a complete makeover for a garden of any size.  It also provides tips to help you evaluate your yard, determine what to keep and what to remove, and choose the right plants for your new design plans.
If you are gardening on a budget, definitely check out “The budget-wise gardener:  with hundreds of money-saving buying & design tips for planting the best for less.”  This book is an essential guide to creating the garden of your dreams without breaking the bank.  It explains how to time your purchases to take advantage of deep discounts and giveaways.
