You know that with your card from the Adams County Library System, you have the ability to check out books, dvds and more at any of the six branches throughout the county. But, did you know that you have access to a variety of other resources that are available on our website under ELibrary?
The library system subscribes to a number of databases that you can use for genealogy research, homework, or to develop skills such as learning a new language or job skills. Found by clicking on Research under ELibrary, our databases are now able to be filtered by type. Need some Homework Help? When you’re on the research page, simply click Filters and a box listing the database types will appear. Click the checkbox next to Homework Help and then Apply, and the list of databases will change to those that will be helpful for students. Every database has a description attached, so finding the one that you need should be easy!
Why subscribe to magazines when you can read them for free from the library? With Flipster, you currently have access to thirty-nine different titles that range a variety of topics. Each magazine is full text, searchable, and if reading on a computer, printable. Previous issues are also available. Some popular titles that the library subscribes to include: Vanity Fair, National Geographic, Entertainment Weekly, and Good Housekeeping.
eBooks and eAudio Books
The Cloud Library is your go-to source for eBooks from the library system. Once you have the app downloaded and log in with your library card, you will have access to over 11,000 titles. eBooks are purchased weekly, with the new shelf posted on Fridays.
While we do have some eAudio titles in the Cloud Library, the majority of our eAudio Book titles can be found in RBDigital.
Recently updated with a new interface, Freegal is your source for music. Freegal offers the entire Sony music catalog to residents of Adams County. With Freegal, you can download five songs each week, and keep those songs forever. You also have the ability to stream music for up to three hours a day.
Your library card opens a variety of gateways for exploration. Take a look at everything we offer by visiting our website at www.adamslibrary,org.
