When NO is a Good Thing

I hope you’re in good spirits and health! Who’s ready for 2021? We have a couple of months to go and I want to take this time to express my gratitude to our donors and sponsors and to ask for your support.

doNOrs: You Made A Difference!
Because of you, essential library services for the residents of Adams County have continued without interruption. Your contributions enabled the Adams County Library System (ACLS) to enhance its digital materials. Your support resulted in 100+ educational programs for parents, teachers and caregivers, which are now conveniently archived for viewing on our new YouTube channel. Thank you!

JobNOw & New Access
People suddenly unemployed due to the pandemic sought out the 24/7 access to Brainfuse JobNow through our Digital Library, leading to a 500% increase in usage. Since January, we experienced a 62% increase in use of eBooks and a 39% increase in eAudiobooks. We’re here to help!

NOn-Profit Organization
Did you know that the ACLS is a 501c3 nonprofit organization and we accept gifts from Donor Advised Funds, IRA Charitable Rollovers, stock, life insurance, and bequests from wills and trusts? It’s true! And the ACLS Legacy Circle is comprised of donors who have chosen to include us through planned giving. If your desire is to make a greater impact for lifelong learning, would you make a distribution to the ACLS?

NOw: If You Can Give, Your Donation Will Be Doubled!
Thanks to an anonymous donor, your dollars will be doubled for twice the impact! If we receive $5,000 in donations before December 31st, a generous donor has promised a matching donation of $5,000 for a total of $10,000 raised for the library’s most urgent needs! You can mail a check, donate at a branch, call 717.334.0163 to make a credit card payment, or give through our secure website at adamslibrary.org. In each library, you can pick up a “Dear Deer” ornament for a donation of $5. Or, you can give through…

NOvember 5: ACCF Giving Spree Day!
Your financial support helps each of our locations. Books typically cost $35 and e-books cost $81. Programs average $350 each and author visits vary. Our Annual Giving Society benefits begin at $250. Your gift of any amount will make a difference in the life of an Adams County resident. You can choose to donate to the ACLS by giving at the Adams County Community Foundation Giving Spree on November 5. Our code is #13. All checks must be made out to the ACCF and dated 11.5.20. Together, let’s help the residents of Adams County!

NOt Always About Money
If you’re unable to donate at this time, you can support us by volunteering, sharing our mission with a friend, liking our Facebook page, telling your neighbor about our free resources, and forwarding our e-newsletter to your friends. If you shop on Amazon, designate the ACLS to receive your Amazon Smiles points. Select us as the beneficiary in the Kennie’s Market Community Treasures Program. Thank you for joining us in the pursuit of our vision: Every Life Fulfilled!

P.S. NOford (Okay, that doesn’t really work for New Oxford, but this is important.) Our 2020 #GivingTuesday campaign, which occurs on December 1, is all about the New Oxford Library. We’re raising money to purchase flexible furnishings that allow for social distancing and sanitizing now required by the pandemic. More details coming soon about this Global Day of Giving.
