Three of the resources that the library system is very happy to provide to the residents of Adams County are Brainfuse JobNow™, Mango Languages, and Heritage Quest. These three programs are available 24/7 on the Databases page of the Library System’s website.
Brainfuse JobNow™ provides library patrons with a host of services to help in every step of the job search process. Job coaches are available to help patrons with any and all job search-related questions. In addition to helping beginning job seekers pinpoint their desired career field, coaches can also provide constructive suggestions on resumes, help write a professional cover letter, and give live interview practice and feedback.
If you do not have time for a live session, simply submit your resume at any time of day through the Resume Lab and a job coach will send it back to you generally within 1 business day with detailed feedback and suggestions for improvement.
The JobNow™ service also comes with an extensive collection of resources, including resume/cover letter templates, interview tips, general sample interview questions, industry-specific sample interview questions, and a diverse array of online resources and links.
Mango Languages provides a self-paced learning program that teaches languages through relevant and topical dialogue using the four key components — vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and culture — for improving proficiency in another language. Mango Languages’ content and exercises are crafted by expert linguists and language teachers that empower learners to comprehend, construct, and create conversations in the real world.
Each lesson for the over 70 languages that Mango offers, breaks down full sentences into digestible pieces that are gradually rebuilt to reinforce the language structure and vocabulary. New words are introduced with each conversation and woven into mastered phrases. The result — learners who are equipped to intuitively apply the language they’ve learned and confidently speak like a local.
Need to take Mango on the road with you? Mango offers mobile apps for Apple, Android and Kindle devices.
