Music for all Moods

Did you know that with the library’s online music service, Freegal, you can stream music for up to three hours every day and download (and keep) five songs a week?  It’s a great service that gives you access to the entire Sony music catalog – that’s over 15 million songs and 40,000 music videos.  Each month, over 200,000 songs are added to the collection.  All you need to use this service is your Adams County Library card.
When you log into Freegal, you will first see Featured Playlists, Songs, Albums, Videos, Audiobooks and Artists.  You can browse through Freegal and find your new favorite artist, or search for an artist you already know and like.  Freegal is an easy service to navigate, but if you have any issues, don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
Freegal has curated Playlists on many different themes.  With the Holiday Season upon us, they have playlists for Holiday Songs, featuring “Must be Santa” by She & Him and “Baby It’s Cold Outside” by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.  “What’s Cooking: A Culinary Playlist” is another playlist that features songs like “Spill the Wine” by The Isley Brothers and “Catfish Blues” by Jimi Hendrix.  Holiday playlists aren’t the only playlists you’ll find, however.  There is a One Hit Wonders playlist, a 2018 Emmy Nominees playlist as well as playlists for every genre of music and decade.  There are curated playlists for everyone – and you can create your own playlists that you can stream whenever you log into Freegal.
Playlists can only be streamed online and cannot be downloaded in their entirety.  However, individual songs on playlists can be downloaded.
Did your favorite artist release a new album?  Check for it on Freegal.  You can stream the album for free and download your favorite songs without paying a dime.
When you’re in Freegal, and find a song that interests you, you can add it to your wishlist (if you’re out of downloads for the week), add it to a playlist that you’ve created, or download the song.
So why not check out Freegal?  You can find it on our website, in the app store for your device, or by our unique Freegal web address:  With over 15 million songs, you’re sure to find something you like, and unlike other music services, all you need is your library card.
