The Friends Summer Book Sale is Almost Here

The Adams County Friends of the Library will be holding their 18th annual Summer Book Sale from Wednesday August 1st through Saturday August 4th at Redding Auction House, 1085 Table Rock Road, Gettysburg, PA. This is a new, and somewhat smaller venue for us, but will be air-conditioned and has ample and uncontested free parking.

The hours of the sale have changed. Please note our later start time the first day of the sale, Wednesday August 1st, at 12 PM to 8 PM. Thursday and Friday, August 2nd & 3rd our hours are 9 AM to 8 PM, and Saturday, August 4th, our hours are 9 PM to 3 PM.

Please note that because of the bridge construction at the intersection of Boyds School Road and Table Rock Road, beginning on July 9th, getting to the auction house is only by alternative routes. Proceed on Biglerville Road to Goldenville Rd, then Table Rock and proceed south. Or Old Harrisburg Road to Goldenville Rd and then south on Table Rock Rd. Look for the book sale signs along these routes to help navigate your way to the sale.

We will be offering about 25,000 books to choose from, including DVD’s, CD’s and some vinyl record albums. Book categories include True Crime and Mysteries, Fiction, Non-Fiction, Biography, Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Art/Photography/Music, Classics and Collectible books, U.S. History, World Cultures, Sports, Romance, Home & Garden, Horror and Occult, and Children’s and Young Adult.

Our prices remain unchanged, with hardback books $2.00 each, large paperbacks $1.50 and small paperbacks $.50. Children’s and Young Adult hardback books are $1.00 each and Children’s and Young Adult paperbacks are $.50 each.

As we have in past years. Saturday, August 4th will be our bag of books day. Bags of books are $6.00 each, buy three and get a fourth bag free. Please note our extended hours that day for your shopping convenience.

Children under 12 years old are entitled to 5 free books on August 2nd and 3rd. Teachers are also allowed a free bag of books on August 2nd and 3rd for use in their classroom instruction. Teachers should bring some type of school ID.

We hope to see you at the sale!
