Description

Join us for the Fifth Annual FunFest, which takes place on Friday, June 11th from 4 p - 7 p at the Gettysburg Rec Park.  FunFest is a community event with FREE activities for the entire family that also features face painting, balloon artists, hot dogs grilled by the Kiwanis Club Gettysburg Adams, treats from Mr. Y's shaved Ice, tunes from DJ John of Ziegler's Mobile entertainment, and booths of activities from 40+ Adams County organizations.  This event launches Summer Quest, a season of exploration and learning; children, teens and adults can register at FunFest.

Interested in being a FunFest volunteer?  Choose between greeting attendees, helping with kids' activities, set up/clean up, signage crew, vendor helper, and more.  Volunteers receive an official FunFest baseball cap and supper.

The theme is Imagine Your Story and organizations wanting to join the fun while sharing their mission with Adams County residents are welcome!  The fee is $30 for non-profit organizations and $75 for businesses.  Over 2,000 people attended last year's event.

This event is one way to support early childhood literacy efforts and emphasize the importance of reading early and often to children, as well as engaging them in conversation and other activities around books.
